Reasons to Vote No on Prop. 19

Someone said to me “if you had to choose between a pilot that has had a drink and a pilot that has smoked a joint, which pilot would you prefer to fly the plane you are on”. While either prospect is grim to me I have no trouble choosing the one with one drink.  I remember pot. I remember the effects on me.  BAD idea.

My position on Proposition 19

Dear Friends,

There have been a few people who have misunderstood my viewpoint on Prop. 19.  I am emphatically NOT advocating drug use.  However, I think that criminalizing drug use has just made it more widespread, driven it underground, and created a violent international black market.  I think that the billions of dollars that are being spent on the drug war would have a far more beneficial effect if they were spent instead on effective drug education and treatment.
